Revamped Celtics.com/shop to Include Limited Edition Auction Items and Interactive Locker Room Shopping Experiences
SAN FRANCISCO/BOSTON, October 31, 2008 – As the new NBA season kicks off, Delivery Agent
and the 2008 NBA Champion Boston Celtics today announced a multi-year extension of their
ecommerce partnership. The renewal comes on the heels of record sales over the past year at
Celtics.com/shop, the official team online store powered by Delivery Agent, which has quickly become
the top-selling site among all NBA franchises.
Sparked by the 2008 championship run, sales on the official Celtics store website increased 1,170%
over the prior year. One of the featured items, Kevin Garnett’s adidas Team Signature Commander
NBA Finals shoes, sold out in less than 36 hours at $1,017 per pair with proceeds going to various
NBA Cares initiatives, including the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation (BCSF). The official Celtics
store website also boasted over 12,000 items sold in the 24-hour period following the title-clinching
Game 6 win, a 7,435% increase over the website’s 24-hour average.
In celebration of the new season, Celtics.com/shop is currently hosting an auction, which kicked off
opening night on Tuesday, October 28, featuring limited-edition autographed Kevin Garnett Opening
Night adidas shoes and will run until Tuesday, November 4th at 12:00 pm. PST. Only 17 pairs of these
shoes are available as a nod to the 17 championships the Celtics have won over the years. Proceeds
from the auction will benefit the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation.
As part of the extended partnership, Delivery Agent’s marketing services division, Agent.c, will be
deploying its Shopisode™ technology for the ecommerce site. This patented interactive tool allows
viewers to shop for items while watching online, behind-the-scenes footage of the Celtics locker room
integrated with products such as new Celtics apparel, 2008 NBA Champions collection, items from the
Sport Authentics vintage collection, new women’s merchandise, and the exclusive authentic Celtics
2008 NBA Championship replica banner. The Shopisode™ features the Celtics mascot, Lucky the
Leprechaun, and members of the Celtics Dance Team.
