HISTORY and Delivery Agent Expand Commerce Relationship to Include Interactive Auctions
First Event Tied to the Premiere of New Episodes of PAWN STARS on Monday, November 30 on HISTORY
SAN FRANCISCO, CA. – November 30, 2009 – HISTORY and Delivery Agent, the leader in shopping enabled entertainment, today announced the extension of their partnership to include fully integrated interactive auctions. The first application of this exciting new capability will include a fully synchronized, in-program, consumer auction tied to the premiere of all new episodes of HISTORY’s hit television series, PAWN STARS, on Monday, November 30 at 10pm EST.
PAWN STARS takes viewers inside the fascinating world and history of the pawning business with the Harrison family’s Las Vegas based pawn shop, and when the television series returns on November 30, viewers will be treated to a real-time auction featuring product seen on PAWN STARS. As the Harrison family evaluates different items to add to their pawn shop, viewers will have the unique opportunity to bid and actually own the products being discussed on-air. The items which viewers can bid on will include: 1946 Hamilton Chronometer, 1864 Confederate $20.00 bill and a Steve Kaufman serigraph of Hugh Hefner. (Each item will come with a Certificate of Authenticity by A&E Television Networks, LLC.)
While watching the Monday, November 30 episode, viewers will see on-air “call outs” driving to HISTORY’s commerce site, which can be found at: www.history.com/auction. The auction will run simultaneously to the start of the PAWN STARS premiere episode on Monday, November 30 at 7:00 pm PST/ 10:00 pm EST and run through Tuesday, December 8 at 3:00 pm PST/ 6:00 pm EST.
100% of the net proceeds from the auction will benefit the Harrison families’ charity of choice, the Las Vegas Rescue Mission, which is dedicated to improving the quality of life for the homeless, addicted, and needy through food, shelter, recovery and employment training programs.
PAWN STARS brings viewers inside the doors of a family-run pawnshop in Las Vegas, where three generations of men from the Harrison family— grandfather Richard, son Rick and grandson Corey— jointly run the business, with clashing and camaraderie every step of the way. This family lives and breathes the pawning business, using their sharp-eyed skills to carefully assess the value of items their colorful customers bring in, objects ranging from the obscure to the truly historic. All new episodes of PAWN STARS will premiere on Monday, November 30 at 10pm EST on HISTORY. Visit www.history.com/pawnstars for more info.
PAWN STARS is produced for HISTORY by Leftfield Pictures. David McKillop and Mary Donahue are Executive Producers for HISTORY. Executive Producers for Leftfield Pictures are Brent Montgomery and Colby Gaines.
