Mark Brohan is director of research for Internet Retailer and editor of Internet Retailer’s Top 500 Guide, Top500Guide.com and related research publications. Prior to re-joining Internet Retailer in July 2005, Mark was managing director of The Brohan Group, a full-service business publishing consulting company.
Previously, Mark headed up new print and web product business development for Faulkner & Gray, a subsidiary of Thomson Corp. that Mark joined in 1989. Among the many positions Mark held at Faulkner & Gray were web publisher and editorial director for DM Review magazine and its two Web sites: DMReview.com and dataWarehouse.com. He was also the founding editor of various Faulkner & Gray technology magazines, including Internet Retailer.
Mark earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary education and history from Western Michigan University and a master’s in journalism and public affairs from The American University.

Elizabeth Kalodner

Executive Vice President and General Manager, CBS Consumer Products | CBS

Liz Kalodner is the Executive Vice President and General Manager for CBS Consumer Products. She is charged with building brand awareness and revenue for a portfolio that includes current TV series such as CSI, NCIS and America’s Next Top Model as well as an extensive classic library of more than 150 titles including Cheers and Love Boat. Liz also manages the Star Trek franchise and is responsible for the company’s ecommerce business.
Before coming to CBS, Kalodner was Executive Vice President and General Manager, Global Consumer Products for Sesame Workshop, handling the company’s $1.2 billion global-retail business including theme parks, touring shows, video/audio, toys, gifts, apparel and home furnishings.
Prior to that she was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Socialnet, an Internet start-up and early entrant in the social networking space. Kalodner spent 10 years at the Walt Disney Company, where she worked in Film & Television Licensing, Walt Disney Records and New Business Development.
She holds an undergraduate degree from Harvard University and a M.B.A., Marketing and Finance, from Columbia University.

Django Bayless

SVP, Technology | Live Nation

Django Bayless serves as Senior Vice President of New Media Technology/Artist Relations of Signatures Network, Inc. Mr. Bayless has been a proven leader in the Technology industry for the past 15 years. As a founding employee and Chief Technologist for Sony Signatures, he was responsible for designing, directing and implementing Sony Signatures’ information systems and technology including creative, accounting, telecommunication and phone systems in the United States, London, and Paris. He was responsible for setting up local and wide-area networks and interconnections with Sony’s global network intranet. In addition, he set up networks and systems in various offices throughout the U.S., Europe, and Japan. he established an enterprise information system that replicated between offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Europe and was featured in PC Week. He has provided technical analysis and due diligence for successful CMGI acquisitions for CMGI’s M&A department and @Ventures. Mr. Bayless played a major role in launching Sony Signatures ecommerce, the first division of Sony to implement ecommerce online, and in doing so he developed content and built e-commerce sites for Signatures portfolio of celebrities. Mr. Bayless launched the official web sites for major artists ranging from U2 and Madonna to KISS and Britney Spears. With a wide breadth of experiences, Mr. Bayless has done everything from designing album covers for Jerry Garcia and David Grisman on David Grisman’s Grammy nominated label “Accoustic Disc” and was also production coordinator for Bam Magazine’s Bay Area Music Awards from 1988 to 1993. He has also been invited as a speaker and panelist for many key technology conferences such as a keynote panelist at Apple’s QuickTime Developers Conference. He served on several of Sony’s global steering committees including the Internet Steering Committee and Sony’s Global Network Infrastructure Committee.

Francisco Varela

Global Director of Partnerships | YouTube

Francisco Varela leads YouTube’s business development efforts with mobile and consumer electronics manufacturers, game console providers and telecommunications carriers. Mr. Varela’s team is responsible for YouTube’s global partnerships with companies such as Samsung, LG, Vodafone, Sony, Microsoft Xbox, Verizon, and DoCoMo.

Prior to joining YouTube, Mr. Varela held the position of Legal Director for mobile software company Openwave Systems in London, where he oversaw support for Openwave’s regional sales efforts, litigation and corporate acquisitions. Mr. Varela also spent five years as International Counsel for Yahoo! Inc., where he worked on Yahoo!’s strategic alliances and acquisitions, including Yahoo!’s sponsorship of the FIFA World Cup.

Varela earned his Juris Doctor degree from Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley and attended the Harvard Law School.

Mark Teitell

General Manager, Ultraviolet | Digital Entertainment Content Ecosystem (DICE)

Mark Teitell is General Manager of the Digital Entertainment Content Ecosystem (DECE) – an alliance of approximately 70 companies, including many of the world’s top movie studios, technology providers, consumer device makers, entertainment retailers and video service providers. The alliance has come together to create and operate UltraViolet™, a groundbreaking, open cloud-based ecosystem that offers consumers a new and compelling way to collect and enjoy home video entertainment.
Teitell, who began working with DECE in 2009 and was named GM in February, 2010, works closely with alliance member companies to accelerate the adoption of UltraViolet. His GM role spans strategy, product development, marketing, finance, and operations functions.
With deep industry knowledge spanning the media, communications and consumer technology value chains, Teitell has specialized expertise in physical and digital home entertainment, multi-channel and overt-the-top video services, and emerging home video devices, as well as within related mobile industry spaces. Prior to his work with UltraViolet, he served as a consulting partner at Oliver Wyman, where he advised senior media and consumer technology executives on next-generation business models and new digital consumer offerings.
Previously, he was a member of Sprint PCS’ launch management team during its national build-out and launch. He has also held senior management roles within several venture-funded new media start-ups. His early career training included roles at PepsiCo and McKinsey & Company.
Teitell has presented at a number of leading industry events, including the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the National Association of Broadcasters’ NAB Show and Digital Hollywood, among others.
Teitell holds a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University’s J.D. Kellogg School of Management, where he graduated with distinction and was named an F.C. Austin Scholar. He is also a graduate of Brown University.

Claude London

Digital Director, BBC Worldwide Consumer Products | BBC

Claude’s focus is to formulate, implement and continually develop the global strategy for BBCW’s eCommerce business, as well as drive growth in BBCW’s global video business. Claude also partners Consumer Products’ video, publishing, licensing and audio and music businesses, retail clients, and the rest of BBC Worldwide to create next generation, innovative consumer products that utilise the latest technology and platforms – in this context he is leading BBCW’s involvement in UltraViolet.

In his previous role as SVP Global Digital Properties for BBC Worldwide, Claude was responsible for driving commercial growth in the digital space for BBCW’s highest profile brands. He created and delivered innovative commercial strategies, including through partnerships with cutting edge operators in the mobile, connected TV and social media spaces.

Previously, Claude was the VP of Digital Operations at Warner Music International, where he was central in driving digital commerce expansion outside of the US. Prior to that, he worked at management consultancy Bain & Company, working across major media, technology and telecom clients in the US and Europe. Claude also participates in the European start-up landscape through a number of forums and associations, and is an active angel investor. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, and an MSc in Computer Science from Ecole Supérieure d’Electricité.

Mike Davis

CEO | Alliance Entertainment

Mr. Davis joins Alliance from Universal Music Group (“UMG”) where he served in various strategic and
sales capacities for more than 14 years. Since 2006 he has served as Executive Vice President and
General Manager for Universal Music Enterprises (“UME”) where he oversaw all strategic and tactical
operations.
Prior to joining UME, Mr. Davis was Executive Vice President and General Manager of UMG’s
distribution arm, Universal Music Group Distribution (“UMGD”). At UMGD, he provided leadership for
the company’s physical and digital distribution arm and its 400 employees. He oversaw all UMGD sales,
channel marketing and business development functions.
Mr. Davis attended Georgia State University before pursuing a career in the music industry.

and retailers, in a very challenging marketplace,” said Mr. Davis. Regarding where the business is

CKim Niemi

SVP, NBCUniversal TV Distribution | NBC

Kim Niemi is Senior Vice President of the NBCUniversal Television Consumer Products Group. She reports to Len Fogge, President, Marketing, NBC Entertainment. In this position, Niemi is responsible for all global licensing and merchandising of NBCUniversal television properties, as well as the NBC Universal television catalog.

She leads the group’s efforts to develop and implement product lines associated with NBC Universal’s television brands, including NBC, Universal Media Studios, USA Network, Syfy channel, CNBC and Telemundo. This incorporates hits such as NBC’s “Smash,” “Fashion Star,” “The Office,” “30 Rock,” “The Biggest Loser,” “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” and “Today,” USA Network’s “Monk” and “Psych,” and the Syfy’s “Warehouse 13.”

In addition, she oversees all new business development for music, eCommerce sales, the NBC Universal online store (www.nbcuniversalstore.com) and third party home entertainment licensing.

Recent product launches include items for NBC’s “The Office,” “30 Rock,” “Parks and Recreation,” “The Biggest Loser”, “House”, “Fashion Star”, “Smash” and “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon”; USA Network’s “Psych” and “Monk,” which continues to enjoy a top-selling line of books”; Syfy’s “Warehouse 13″ and “Eureka.” Several products from classic NBC shows featured in the NBCUniversal television catalog – including “Battlestar Gallactica”, “Knight Rider,” “The Munsters,” “The Bionic Man” and ”Saved By The Bell”.

Niemi first joined NBCUniversal in 1999 as Vice President, Business Development, NBC Enterprises. Under her direction, NBC home entertainment sales grew consistently including top-selling TV DVD releases from the “Saturday Night Live” Collection and the “Will & Grace” individual season DVDs. Since then, Niemi has formed licensing & merchandising alliances, which maximize the value of NBC Universal product and the NBC network brand, including ground-breaking success for reality program “The Biggest Loser.” She co-manages one of the most comprehensive eCommerce entertainment sites at www.nbcuniversalstore.com. In addition, she has partnered with major book publishers on multiple releases, including, most recently, the NY Times Bestselling “Thank You Notes” Vol. 1 & 2 from Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, “The Biggest Loser” book series, “The Joy Fit Club” from TODAY, “Pawnee: The Greatest Town In America” from Parks & Recreation, “Top Chef” & “Real Housewives” books, as well as top-selling catalog book series for “Monk” and “Murder She Wrote. She forged partnerships and oversaw releases with variety of records labels on numerous soundtrack releases most recently for “Smash”, “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” and “Friday Night Lights”. Previous releases included “American Dreams”, “Providence”, “Will & Grace”, “The 70’s Mini Series” and “TODAY” Summer Concert Series.

A 24-year veteran of the music business, Niemi began her career at Capitol Records as an A&R Coordinator, rising to Vice President of Product Planning. While at Capitol, she was responsible for all aspects of product coordination and scheduling as well as working with film companies and/or producer/music supervisors to obtain rights to release soundtracks. She created and implemented strategic marketing plans for soundtrack releases and served in a variety of roles including project coordinator, music supervisor or executive producer on various project Top selling soundtracks for “Romeo & Juliet”, “Trainspotting”, “Dead Presidents”, “Hope Floats”, “Clueless”, “There’s Something About Mary” and Oscar Nominated “Goodwill Hunting” among others.

Niemi holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in radio, television and broadcasting from California State University, Northridge. She is married, has three children, and resides with her family in a suburb of Los Angeles.

Kim Leugers

Director of Mobile & Emerging Media | Pandora

Kim Luegers is the Director of Mobile and Emerging Media at Pandora. In this role, Luegers is tapped to provide thought leadership strategy to further advance Pandora’s mobility offering through data-driven insights.
Luegers serves as a valued industry spokeswoman on mobile advertising for Pandora, providing commentary in various media outlets and participating in industry conferences around the country. As Pandora’s primary mobile evangelist, Luegers is integral in helping bands, brands and fans unite across multiple platforms within the Pandora listening experience.
Luegers joined Pandora in early 2011 from DRAFTFCB, where she led emerging media strategy and planning for the Chicago office. Luegers began her career in advertising, buying & planning traditional media in Chicago and worked at both Mediaedge and OMD.
Luegers is an active member of the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA), Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB).
In 2012, Luegers was ranked third in Business Insider’s list of The 21 Most Powerful Women In Mobile Advertising. In 2010, she topped Mobile Marketer’s list of Women to Watch.
Luegers is a proud alumnus of Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.

Mark Wenger

Director, Connected Devices and iTV | PayPal

Mark Wenger is Director, Connected Devices and Interactive Television, within PayPal’s Emerging Opportunities organization. He is charged with leading the company’s efforts to bring PayPal to emerging connected platforms on any type of connected device globally, including the television.

Prior to PayPal, Wenger worked for Equifax, a two billion dollar credit bureau based in Atlanta, Georgia. As Senior Director of Product Management, he managed the company’s primary direct marketing product-line, providing Fortune 2000 companies with unique marketing intelligence on U.S.-based consumers and households. Previously, Wenger worked in Investment Banking with Credit Suisse First Boston.

Wenger received an MBA from the University of Michigan, a Master’s Degree in Computer Science & Engineering from Oakland University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Boston College

Edward Skolarus

Vice President, Business Operations | Fox

Edward Skolarus serves as Vice President, Business Operations for Fox Reality where he oversees business development and emerging media applications for the year-old service. He likewise manages Fox Reality’s program licensing and content ventures for on-air and other platforms, together with Fox Networks Group support teams. Since joining Fox Reality in January of 2006, he has acquired and launched many top reality programs for on-air and digital media platforms. He also helped launch Fantasy Reality Challenge, an on-line fantasy game for reality television fans and initiated Fox Networks Group’s first interactive viewer experience, utilizing Fox Reality’s daily “Reality Remix.” Viewers can use their cell phones to answer questions, participate in polls and other features in real-time synchronization with the series. Skolarus also launched “Reality Remix” podcasts, available through www.foxreality.com, www.itunes.com and www.yahoo.com. Mr. Skolarus joins Fox Reality from GoldPocket Interactive Inc., where he served as division Senior Vice President responsible for distribution, sales and marketing. During his five year tenure with GoldPocket, Mr. Skolarus branded and launched the company within the entertainment market, significantly grew cable/satellite/mobile distribution, assisted in acquiring digital media and mobile companies and launched interactive and mobile applications for leading broadcasters such as CBS, HSN, NBC, GSN, FOX, NFL and DirecTV. Prior to GoldPocket, Mr. Skolarus served as COO and VP of Marketing at BadaBiz Inc., an Internet content collaboration company specializing in Digital Rights Management and security for content distribution. Prior to BadaBiz, Mr. Skolarus was the CEO and co-founder of RenderView Software Inc., a leading digital content collaboration and communication company. Skolarus began his career as a lead systems architect and software engineer for Ford and Chrysler motors developing large-scale enterprise software systems. Originally from Michigan, Skolarus graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering from Eastern Michigan University. In addition, did post-graduate studies at Wayne State University in medicine.

Monica Bannan

Vice President, Mobile Media | Nielsen

Monica Bannan is Vice President of Mobile Media at Nielsen, a leading global provider of information and analytics around what consumers watch and what they buy. There, she oversees Nielsen’s mobile media products, including mobile audience measurement solutions and Smartphone Analytics, both of which rely on data collected from Nielsen’s new smartphone on-device meters. Monica came to Nielsen through the acquisition of Telephia, where she worked across Telephia’s mobile products. Before that, Monica worked at a number of mobile and market research startups, who recruited her away from Bertelsmann AG, where she began her career.

Matt Altman

Born in Phoenix, Arizona, Mr. Altman attended the University of Arizona where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Business. He has been involved in the business of sports, music, and entertainment for 20 years.

Mr. Altman began his career in merchandising with the Phoenix Suns. Over a 12 year span he was Director of Merchandise for the Phoenix Suns, Arizona Diamondbacks, Phoenix Coyotes, and oversaw retail operations for what is now US Airways Center and Chase Field.

In 2006 Mr. Altman and Jason Franklin founded the brand Sportiqe, a lifestyle clothing company with a niche of providing fashion apparel for the fan. For Matt, Sportiqe is a dream being realized everyday.

Matt continues to live in Phoenix with his wife Clara, step daughter Tess, and Phoebe (Chihuahua).

Brian Duffy

National Sales Director, NBA and NHL | Sports Licensed Division of the adidas Group

A native from the Boston area, Brian attended Bentley University in Waltham, MA where he graduated with Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and a Minor in Communications.
In 2001 Brian left his 3 years’ experience in internet advertising sales with Lycos.com and entered the world of Sports and Fitness as a sales rep for the On Field Division of Reebok. He then became a sales manager overseeing Reebok’s apparel and headwear business with all of the NFL stadiums.
In 2006 Brian became a sales manager for the Sports Licensed Division of the adidas Group where he managed their Headwear division for NBA, NHL, NFL and NCAA and is now in charge of NBA and NHL apparel and headwear.
Brian still resides in the greater Boston area and spends quality time with his family during the summer in Cape Cod.
